Google : The Best Brand in the World

Google : Whenever this word is uttered i guess even a small boy/girl studying in the 5th standard might know what Google is all about.. Such is the strength of this brand.. Every time i have doubt regarding any subject on this earth, is sort it out with the help of Google.. Do you know that the term Google comes from “Googol” a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. The use of the term reflects the mission to organize a seemingly infinite amount of information on the web.Lets find out what makes this brand standout in the websapce, though its just a simple search engince..

If my memory serves me right, i remember Google being voted as the most trusted brands in the world since 2007. Its third time in a row it has gained the position with a brand value of $M 100,039 as compared to $M 66,434 in 2007.

According to a report by Millward Brown, Google has a whooping 73% market share in the online search segment. The fact itself speaks volumes about this brand. Two important aspects which i feel made this brand a great success in the websapce are: operational excellence & product leadership.
Out of these product leadership is what makes Google an excellent brand. Operational excellence is what services Google has offered to its end users as a part of the product. But product leadership is something which does not come so easily to any brand. Google has managed to do that with ease producing the best, or the market dominant products. Business with high rate of innovation and patent application often have product leadership at their heart. Google is being loyal to its core product ever since its launch. Its has a unique & universal message being sent out to its consumers i.e a search engine.

Look at Rediff & Yahoo. Rediff off late had revamped its site, which was not at all a success in the websapce market. Many commented that the older version was a better one. On the other hand Yahoo has smartly revamped its user interface offering a better service as compared to Rediff. The problem with both the websites is that they have too many things to offer on a single webpage which confuses the end user. Whenever we log on Yahoo or Rediff we find so many service offerings including search engine and e-mail application. Which is not the case with Google. Google also has the same amount of services as compared to Yahoo or Rediff, the only difference being the way the services are being packaged and given it to the user.

The latest ones to enter the search engine market are Knol & Bing, which still are in the process of growth stage. Not many have being able to shift their focus from Google to any other new entrant in the same market, just because Google has a Product Leadership in the same segment.

Brands which enter the consumers mind will cause into a behaviour for sure, but the brands which win your heart will gain a commitment & brand loyalty.Which is what Google has done. It has won the hearts of the users who find it difficult to shift to any other brand in the same or similar market segment.

After all Google is my best friend!!!

Make Way for the Younger Generation

“TO MAKE as meaningful as possible this life that has been bestowed upon us;
To live in such a way that we may be proud of ourselves;
To act in such a way that some part of us lives on.”

These lines urge us to think, “What have we done in our lives so far as individuals to make it easier and more purposeful?” However, we need to ask this question as Indians, and the moment we do, there are many issues which we realise we need to address and try to figure out whether we have done enough justice to them.

Presently, security is an issue of concern in our country. Many political parties have released their manifestos and have given the issue the highest priority. Crores of rupees have been allocated and many promises have been made. Time alone will tell us how far the political parties are successful in fulfilling these promises. But as individuals, how alert and serious have we been to choose the right candidate so that our future is secure enough?

The present political parties have promising young prime ministerial candidates who can lead the country for the next five years. No doubt, they, along with the senior leaders of the respective political parties, have a good understanding of what is needed for the development of India. The point here, then, is why the senior leaders can’t step aside to let youngsters like Milind Deora, Rahul Gandhi, Jyotir Aditya Scindia, etc lead India.
Is it the greed for the chair, or is it for the sake of money that they haven’t thought about it?

Even one of the biggest competitions in the world of cricket, India Premier League, has been shifted to South Africa due to security and election reasons. South Africa has elections going on too, and is prone to security issues, but it has still managed and welcomed the challenge of hosting the event. It simply goes to show how well-equipped and well-developed they are to handle issues like these. It’s time for us to make the right choice too.

It is said that ‘It’s better to be on the safest side rather than to be on the safer side’. It’s high time the senior leaders of this country start thinking on these lines and show they really do care about the development of India by giving way to the leaders of the younger generation to lead this country in their own way, while, of course, being under the guidance of the former, who too can contribute to the development of the nation through their wisdom.

The end of a great war time general

Yes, its the end of a great war time general called Sourav Ganguly.
Better known as the "MAHARAJA" of the offside field.It was at the starting
of the new millennium when the Indian Cricket team were facing serious crisis
regarding the captaincy for the team. Sachin had called off as captain, we had
lost to Australia very badly and South Africa had crushed us on our home soil.
So the BCCI think tank took a bold decision rather a brave one to appoint Sourav
Ganguly as the captain of the Indian Cricket team.Who knew that it was the making of a great leader in disguise.

So, then what made the "Bengal Tiger" so special.From his
trademark cover drive shots to his special sixes, he made them all look so easy.
His timing with the bat was so good that even a suise watch could get embrassed by it.Aggression was the hallmark of his character as a captain.The tenacity to take bold decisions was a usual thing for him.So for some fine moments with the bat especially in the one day cricket games,his legacy as a captain is greater.

A new generation of cricketers had taken birth under his captaincy.During his reign as a captain India won many laurels and invariably changed the face of the Indian cricket.The exuburence of youth mixed with the likes of the fab four experienced players made the Indian cricket a tough team to beat.

The team reached its peak when they reached the 2003 World Cup Finals,but unfortunately could not convert that into a bigger one.Surely,the team will miss the experience & services of the so called "Dada" of the Indian Cricket team.
It is tempting to argue to the fact that he should have played much longer.But who knows what the future had for him in the store.His charisma will continue to inspire the up coming cricketers in the mere future.He is and will be considered as one of the best cricketers that the Indian team has ever produced.

So a fine batsmen has gone when still good,still scoring runs..
